Pinch Me

If you feel a pinch, does it mean you have been dreaming?

No,

Not at all.

The human body is a complex system, and so is the human mind, putting them together is leads to even more complexity.

One example of this complexity is the management of Femoral Acetabular Impingement , or FAI. Simply put, the ball and socket joint become restricted and cease to move in an optimal fashion. The two main ways that these don't fit- I'll us a golf ball and golf tee analogy - is that either the golf ball becomes oddly shaped, or the golf tee becomes oddly shaped.

An oddly shaped golf ball is known as- Cam morphology

An oddly shaped golf tee is known as- Pincer morphology

By the sounds and looks of it- doesn't seem very good does it? But there is more to this story, not every with these types of hip changes  ( if you even want to call them changes) develop pain of have a syndrome. You need to have both functional changes such as an inability to tolerate activities and changes in your x ray to be diagnosed. But having just changes to your golf ball or golf tee doesn't mean you will have or develop the inability to participate in your favourite activities- so what does?
