Engagement
The most reward thing about being a physiotherapist is getting clients back to their respective sport or activity with limited discomfort and pain. It’s the goal as a physiotherapist to restore function and minimize discomfort. My role is to provide the pathway for the client, to assist with manual therapy, prescribe appropriate exercise therapy and then to monitor and modulate as appropriate. This is a key point, my role is to show pathway, the client’s role is to actually take the path. Its important for clients to have a high level of engagement in their own rehabilitation, because ultimately the journey is theirs. A physiotherapist shows them then trail head and they make it to the summit.
