Play is the purpose of the recreational athlete. Getting out and enjoying the sport or activities you love. When you participate in the chosen activity a lot, you become proficient, good and efficient at the task. Training takes a specific part of this task, say leg strength and power generation for cycling, and trains specifically that part of the whole. Rehabilitation in many regards is the same process to a much less intensity, the task is broken down into parts with the desire of improving the whole.
