Pain Olympics
Have a you heard a good podcast lately? I had a great listen of Dr. Peter Attia in conversation with Clinical Psychologist Lori Gottlieb. A concept brought forth is that of the “Pain Olympics” . Individuals waiting for their pain or impairment to reach levels of 8,9, or 10/10 prior to seeking care with therapist, when this simply is not required. I have seen it, the putting off pain until it gets worse, until there is significant debilitation. Unfortunately most often this means the rehabilitation process takes longer and an individual is misses out on their activities for a longer period of time. Don’t wait to have a competitive score in the pain olympics.
