Proteins

Right now I am reading a great book by science writer Carl Zimmer titled, “She Has Her Mothers Laugh” It takes the reader through the history, applications and learnings of heredity. It has had me thinking about how incredible genetics really is and how the coding of proteins is the wonder of life. How each protein is incredible important to our functioning bodies as instances which genomes lack a certain gene can lead to dysfunctions of organs and organ systems. Then it had me thinking about how exercise plays a roll in genetic expression and our capacity to adapt to our environment. At the end of the day, physiotherapy is modulating proteins.
