Aspect Ratio

When selecting therapeutic exercises there is some reasoning and methods to the madness. Some things to consider are how much contraction a muscle can produce with a particular movement. Does this movement engage all the muscle the way we hop to? Another thing to consider is how much of the desired movement can be cheated, can we have a stable pelvis and prevent contraction of other muscles? This can be though of as a ratio, the highest ratio for high abduction vs internal rotation exists with a clamshell, its one of the main reasons why you will see it implemented so much in stages of early rehabilitation.
