The progressions and loaded progressions pay a huge part. In sport , incremental change is necessary for long term growth, not too much and not too fast for longevity. In rehab its the only way to progress your injuries to return to sport. Slow and steady progressions, increasing the frequency, intensity , type and time of the exercises.
